“As a reader I loathe introductions... Introductions inhibit pleasure, they kill the joy of anticipation, they frustrate curiosity.”

protip if a nerd dude tries to give you a pop quiz about the fandom on your shirt/bag/cosplay by asking you to answer a banal and obscure trivia question to prove you’re a Real Gamer, turn the question back on him. ask him about the thematic implications that bit of trivia has…

I have no idea what half these words mean. Why is a simple question a problem in the first place? There are gamergurls and gamers that happen to be girls. We want to find out which you are. That’s all.

that’s… exactly the problem… ur assumption that it’s somehow a necessity to harass/accuse girls of being Fake just because they happen to like a thing, while in reality doing that serves literally no purpose outside of preforming a great theatrical shitshow of misogynistic self-obsession. the appropriate questions to ask a girl who displays her like for whatever ”nerdy” fanfic would be the same ones you’d ask anyone else - questions like “oh who’s you’re favorite character/what do you like about it/etc” that engage her interest rather than questioning it on the sole basis of her gender

this isnt hard

"i have no idea what half these words mean" oh lawd
